Katy Perry, Michael Buble, and Alanis Morissette will headline three World Cup 2026 opening ceremonies across the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

Star-studded lineups revealed A trio of globally recognized artists—Katy Perry, Michael Buble, and Alanis Morissette—will take the stage at the World Cup 2026 opening ceremonies. Colombian reggaeton star J Balvin and South African singer-songwriter Tyla are also part of the lineup. Perry is set to perform in Los Angeles, Buble in Toronto, and Morissette alongside him in Canada. These performances will occur before the tournament’s first matches in each host nation. ## Ceremonies across three nations The first ceremony will take place on Thursday, 11 June at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, prior to the match between Mexico and South Africa. The second event follows the next day at BMO Field in Toronto, before Canada faces Bosnia and Herzegovina. The final ceremony is scheduled for 12 June at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, ahead of the USA’s match against Paraguay. Each event will blend music, culture, and football to celebrate the tournament’s start. ## Fifa president shares vision Fifa president Gianni Infantino emphasized the significance of the opening ceremonies in uniting the world. He stated, 'The Fifa World Cup is a moment the world shares, and that begins with how we open it.' Infantino added that the ceremonies in Mexico City, Toronto, and Los Angeles will showcase the distinct identities of each host nation while highlighting the tournament’s global unity. 'It is a powerful way to begin a truly global celebration,' he remarked. ## Tournament anthem teased Colombian pop star Shakira hinted earlier this week at her official tournament song, which features Nigerian singer Burna Boy. The anthem’s reveal adds to the excitement building around the World Cup 2026.
