Gorry's West Ham journey Katrina Gorry, the captain of West Ham, will conclude her time at the club as her contract concludes at the end of June 2026. The Australian midfielder arrived at the Women's Super League side in January 2024 and has since featured in more than 50 matches. Her final appearance will come against Manchester City, the current champions of the WSL, during the upcoming fixture on Saturday. West Ham proposed a new deal to Gorry, but she opted to turn it down after considering what would best suit her family situation. ## Captain's personal reflections Gorry, aged 33, shared her emotions about leaving the east London club, stating, "It's an emotional time to be leaving West Ham, but I know this is the right decision for me and my family." She reflected on her rewarding tenure, adding, "I've enjoyed so many incredible moments over the last two and a half years, and captaining this team has been the greatest honour." Gorry also praised the club's supportive environment and dedicated fanbase, saying, "West Ham is a special club with an incredible fanbase that always shows up."
