Warwickshire have bolstered their bowling attack with the short-term signing of India left-arm spinner Manav Suthar for two County Championship fixtures.
Indian left-arm spinner Manav Suthar has joined Warwickshire on a short-term deal, making himself available for their next two County Championship matches in 2026.
Suthar brings experience with 129 first-class wickets from 29 appearances and marks his first appearance in England’s domestic circuit.
The 25-year-old arrives at a crucial stage of the season to strengthen Warwickshire’s bowling attack.
Suthar expressed his excitement about the opportunity, saying how thrilled he is to play for Warwickshire in the upcoming fixtures.
He praised the team’s strong start to the season and his ambition to help them in their title challenge.
His arrival follows a standout Test debut for India against Afghanistan, where he took six wickets in the first innings and another in the second, contributing to India’s largest Test victory.
Warwickshire’s performance director, James Thomas, welcomed Suthar, calling his signing a timely boost for the squad.
He highlighted the team’s impressive red-ball performances and Suthar’s ability to add depth to their bowling options.
Thomas also noted Suthar’s recent selection for India’s Test team as proof of his rising reputation in world cricket.
Warwickshire currently sit second in the County Championship points table.
Their next two matches include a game against Yorkshire in Scarborough starting June 12, followed by a fixture against Somerset in Taunton from June 19.
The team will aim to build on their strong start while incorporating Suthar into their plans.
Several Indian players, including Jayant Yadav, Krunal Pandya, and Mohammed Siraj, have previously represented Warwickshire.
With Suthar now added to the mix, the Bears will look to maintain their momentum and use his experience to push for the title.
