Tottenham sign Porro to new contract running until 2031

Tottenham right-back Pedro Porro has agreed to a new long-term contract keeping him at the club until 2031.

Contract details confirmed Tottenham right-back Pedro Porro has finalized a fresh long-term deal with the club, reported to extend his stay through 2031. Porro, who turned 26 in 2026, had two years left on the agreement he signed after joining Spurs permanently from Sporting CP in the summer of 2023. Tottenham initially brought Porro in on loan in January 2023, with a binding commitment to make the transfer permanent that same summer for a reported £40 million fee. ## Club contributions highlighted Porro has made 152 appearances for Tottenham across all competitions, including 47 outings in all competitions during the previous season—the highest total among every player in Roberto De Zerbi’s squad. Speaking about his progress, Spurs sporting director Johan Lange remarked, "During the past three-and-a-half years, he has made huge progress to become one of the best full-backs in the game, and the fact he is about to play in the World Cup for Spain is testament to that." Lange continued, "His character, work ethic and quality are exactly what we look for when building a squad capable of competing at the highest level and we are delighted that he has chosen to continue his journey with the club." ## Coach praises player’s approach Head coach Roberto De Zerbi also shared his thoughts on Porro’s development, stating, "As well as his technical quality, I also love his mentality. Every day he wants to work, to learn and to improve, and these are the characteristics that help players reach the highest level. He understands football in a very intelligent way, and brings energy, intensity and personality to the team." ## World Cup participation ongoing Porro is currently representing Spain at the 2026 World Cup, where the team is set to begin their group-stage campaign on Monday against Cape Verde in Atlanta, with kickoff scheduled for 17:00 BST. ## Recent transfer update Tottenham completed the signing of defensive midfielder Radamel Falcao Senesi following his departure from Bournemouth.
