Thunder's Jalen Williams exits Game 2 with left hamstring injury in 2026 playoffs
Jalen Williams limped off the court in the third quarter of Game 2 with a left hamstring injury after reacting to a missed layup.
Williams' sudden exit from game Thunder forward Jalen Williams left Wednesday's Game 2 against the Phoenix Suns after appearing to hurt his left hamstring. He reacted to a missed contested layup on a fast break with 6:26 left in the third quarter by grabbing his hamstring and signaling toward the bench. Williams seemed to say the words, "Left hammy." He then intentionally drew a foul a few possessions later to exit the game and went straight to the locker room for an assessment. ## Playoff performance before injury Williams had an outstanding postseason debut after missing most of the regular season due to injuries. He scored 22 points with seven rebounds and six assists in the Thunder's dominant Game 1 victory and followed that with 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting plus four assists in 23 minutes during Game 2. Earlier in the season, Williams was named a third-team All-NBA player and played through a right scapholunate ligament tear while competing in last year's playoffs. ## History of right-side injuries The 2025-26 season saw Williams miss the first 19 games while recovering from surgery on his right scapholunate ligament, which he aggravated during a 28-point performance on February 11 against Phoenix. He shot 11-of-12 in that game but later dealt with repeated issues from a right hamstring strain that forced him out of multiple games.
