Suryakumar Yadav leads India’s T20 team and played a key role in their 2024 T20 World Cup victory. He holds the record for most T20I runs by an Indian batter.

Suryakumar Yadav currently serves as the captain of India’s T20 International side. He was part of the squad that clinched the T20 World Cup in 2024. Suryakumar debuted in T20 Internationals in March 2021 and, as of August 31, 2025, has played 83 matches. He has accumulated 2598 runs at an average of 38.20 and a strike rate of 167.07. The batter has registered four centuries and 21 half-centuries so far. Since his debut, no Indian T20I batter has scored more runs than him, and no batter globally has hit more T20I centuries. In October 2022, Suryakumar rose to the top of the ICC’s T20I batting rankings and held the position continuously until June 2024. On January 27, 2023, he became just the second Indian batter to surpass 900 rating points, reaching 912. Only one batter in history has achieved a higher career rating than him. Suryakumar received his first central contract from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) during the 2022-23 season. He was placed in Grade B, earning an annual salary of INR 3 crore. In March 2025, Suryakumar and his wife Devisha bought two luxury apartments in Mumbai valued at INR 21 crore. The properties are located in the newly developed Godrej Sky Terraces in Deonar. Official records from the IGR property registration, as reviewed by Square Yards, indicate the apartments span two adjacent floors and cover over 4,200 square feet. According to Moneytree Realty, Suryakumar owns a Mercedes-Benz, a Range Rover Velar, a Nissan Juke, and an Audi A6. The total estimated value of his vehicles is approximately INR 3-4 crore.
