Sooryavanshi and Arya lead IPL 2026's standout performers by impact

Sooryavanshi and Priyansh Arya top the IPL 2026 impact rankings with dominant batting performances.

Sooryavanshi's unmatched dominance

Sooryavanshi holds the highest strike rate among batters with 300-plus runs in any IPL season, a record set across 460 instances. His 400 runs came from 689 runs scored while he was batting, including extras, accounting for over 58% of the team's total runs during his time at the crease. This commanding presence is reflected in his Impact rating of 55.1, calculated per match and considering both runs scored and contributions while batting.

Priyansh Arya's explosive approach

Priyansh Arya ranks next with 283 runs, yet his strike rate of 250.4 is the best among batters facing at least five deliveries this season. Arya's impact peaked in a chase of 210 against CSK, where he smashed 39 off 11 balls. Though four batters scored more runs in that match, Arya earned Player of the Match honors and was named MVP for his rapid 11-ball innings.

Top impact list structure

The top 10 impact performers list, limited to batters with at least six matches, is heavily tilted toward openers and fast bowlers. Alongside Sooryavanshi and Arya, the list includes Prabhsimran Singh, Abhishek Sharma, and Sanju Samson from the batting side, while Kagiso Rabada, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Jofra Archer represent the fast-bowling contingent. Jamie Overton rounds out the top 10 with a balanced contribution, earning 52.7 impact points split almost equally between batting (25.8) and bowling (26.9).

Best individual batting innings

Two Mumbai Indians batters feature in the top 10 highest-rated innings of the season. Tilak Varma's unbeaten 101 off 45 balls tops the list, achieved from 44 for 3 in the sixth over against Gujarat Titans. Tilak alone scored 101 out of 155 runs while batting, maintaining a strike rate of 224.4, while his teammates managed 50 off 40 at 125.

Sanju Samson's two centuries, including one against Mumbai Indians and another against Delhi Capitals, place next on the list, with the MI innings slightly higher due to weaker support.

Top bowling performances

Arshdeep's 3 for 22 against Mumbai Indians ranks as the best bowling effort so far this season. He removed key batters early, including Ryan Rickelton for 2 and Suryakumar Yadav first-ball, while conceding just 5.5 runs per over as teammates leaked 169 runs off 16 overs at 10.56 per over.

Jacob Duffy's identical 3 for 22 in the season opener against SRH follows closely, dismissing Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma early and conceding 5.5 runs per over despite SRH's total of 201.

Key spinner and seam highlights

Mohsin Khan's 5 for 23 stands as the only five-wicket haul in the tournament so far, placing third in the bowling impact chart.

Mohammed Shami's 2 for 9, the only top 10 entry with fewer than three wickets, rounds out the list, featuring dismissals of both Head and Abhishek Sharma early for 7 and 0 respectively. Shami conceded just 2.25 runs per over while other bowlers gave away 145 runs off 16 overs at 9.06 per over, earning him the Player of the Match award.
