Shaw and Hasegawa contend for PFA Women's Player of the Year 2026
Manchester City stars Khadija 'Bunny' Shaw and Yui Hasegawa are among six nominees for the 2026 PFA Women's Player of the Year award.
Nominees for top honors Manchester City’s Khadija 'Bunny' Shaw and Yui Hasegawa have been named among the finalists for the Professional Footballers' Association’s 2026 Women’s Player of the Year. Shaw previously claimed the Football Writers’ Association Women’s Footballer of the Year in May and led the scoring charts with 21 goals in 22 league matches as City secured their second WSL title. Hasegawa played a crucial role in City’s domestic double, contributing significantly during their league and FA Cup triumphs. ## Other contenders listed Arsenal’s Alessio Russo, who finished just behind Shaw in the Golden Boot race for top scorer, joins fellow England internationals Lauren James of Chelsea and Jess Park from Manchester United on the shortlist. Aston Villa’s Kirsty Hanson completes the six-player list after netting 12 goals in 22 appearances for the Birmingham-based side.
