Rinku Singh initially made a name for himself in domestic cricket by delivering outstanding performances for Uttar Pradesh. However, his journey in the Indian Premier League (IPL) was slow to gain momentum, with opportunities scarce until the 2023 season. He finally found his footing in the IPL in 2023, where he played in more than seven matches for the first time in a season. This breakthrough campaign saw him showcase his skills, accumulating 474 runs in 14 matches at an impressive average of 59.25 and a strike rate of 149.53. He also made headlines by hitting five consecutive sixes against Yash Dayal in the last over of a match between the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and the Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, catapulting him to fame. Rinku's impressive display in the 2023 season earned him a spot in the Indian team for the tour of Ireland, where he made his international debut. He has since played 33 T20 Internationals (T20Is), scoring 546 runs at an average of 42 and a strike rate of 161.07. Additionally, he has represented India in two One-Day Internationals (ODIs). In the IPL, Rinku has participated in 58 matches, accumulating 1099 runs at an average of 30.53 and a strike rate of 145.18. He has registered four half-centuries, including a highest score of 67* against the Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2023 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Throughout his IPL career, he has hit 87 fours and 56 sixes. Notably, he won the IPL title in 2024. Prior to the 2025 mega-auction, he was retained by KKR for INR 13 crore, a significant increase from his previous earnings of INR 55 lakhs from the Kolkata-based franchise. Rinku's BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) central contract salary is INR 1 crore, as he falls under the Grade C category for the 2024-25 season.
