PSL 2026 playoffs to welcome fans in Lahore and Karachi

Fans will be allowed to attend all PSL 2026 playoff matches in Lahore and Karachi with strict fuel-saving measures.

The government has approved public attendance for all three PSL 2026 playoff matches in Lahore and Karachi. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif gave the green light after a meeting, as confirmed by Faisal Naqvi on X. While fans can now attend, they are encouraged to use public transport or reduce fuel consumption due to ongoing austerity measures.

This decision follows the earlier approval for spectators at the May 3 final in Lahore. The entire PSL 2026 league stage was played without fans as part of Pakistan’s fuel-saving efforts amid the West Asia crisis. The tournament was also reduced from six cities to just Lahore and Karachi.

Naqvi’s announcement came shortly before the Qualifier between Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United in Karachi. Top officials are now finalizing ticketing and logistical plans for the playoffs.

The playoff schedule has been outlined, starting with Eliminator 1 in Lahore on Wednesday between Multan Sultans and Hyderabad Kingsmen. Eliminator 2 will also take place in Lahore on Friday, featuring the loser of the Qualifier against the winner of Eliminator 1.

The final, set for May 3 at Gaddafi Stadium, will now have live spectators after initial restrictions. Karachi will host the Qualifier ahead of the Lahore-based eliminators and the final.

The tournament’s adjustments reflect efforts to balance sporting excitement with national fuel conservation policies. Officials are working to ensure smooth arrangements for fans attending the matches.

Fans can expect strict compliance with fuel-saving measures, including limited fuel use for travel. The PSL playoffs promise an electrifying atmosphere with live crowds for the first time since the league stage.

Organizers aim to deliver a memorable experience while adhering to government guidelines.
