Pakistan women's cricket team to tour Sri Lanka in July 2026 for bilateral ODIs and T20Is
Pakistan’s women’s cricket team will play three ODIs and three T20Is in Sri Lanka in July and August 2026.
Venue for all matches All matches in the upcoming bilateral series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be hosted at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Hambantota. The stadium is set to welcome both teams for all six white-ball fixtures. The ground will serve as the sole venue throughout the tour. Hambantota’s facilities are expected to provide a consistent playing environment for the series. ## ODI series in ICC Women's Championship The three one-day internationals will form part of the ICC Women’s Championship cycle spanning 2025 to 2029. Pakistan currently occupy the second position in the standings with eight points, achieved through four victories in six matches played so far. Sri Lanka, holding the third spot, also have four wins from six games but trail Pakistan on run rate by 0.226, standing at 0.226 compared to Pakistan’s 1.928. The series presents an opportunity for both sides to gain crucial points before the next phase of the championship. ## Scheduled dates for ODIs The first ODI is scheduled for July 23, 2026, followed by the second match on July 25 and the third on July 28. All three matches will be played in Hambantota. The back-to-back fixtures will allow both teams to build momentum ahead of the T20I leg. No changes to the dates have been announced at this stage. ## T20I fixtures and timeline The T20 international series will begin on July 31, 2026, with the second game on August 2 and the third on August 4. Both teams are expected to use this window for preparation and recovery after the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England, which concludes on July 5. The proximity of the events ensures high-intensity competition across formats. Squads are likely to be announced closer to each leg. ## Context of tour timing This tour marks one of the first international assignments for both teams following the conclusion of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England. The schedule allows players to transition smoothly from the global event to bilateral series. Hambantota’s conditions may offer a different challenge compared to England. Recovery and form assessment will be key themes during the tour.
