Matthew Wade, born on December 26, 1987, in Lauderdale, Tasmania, began his international cricket career in 2011. Throughout his playing days, he represented Australia in 36 Tests, 97 One-Day Internationals, and 92 T20 matches. One of his standout achievements came during the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, where his match-winning half-century in the semi-final against Pakistan helped Australia reach the finals and eventually claim their first-ever World T20 title. After over ten years at the highest level, Wade officially retired from international cricket in October 2024. Since stepping away from international play, he has redirected his focus toward coaching, serving as an assistant coach for the Australian side during their T20 series against Pakistan. Beyond coaching, Wade continues to participate in domestic cricket, playing for the Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash League. In early 2025, he broadened his coaching experience by joining the Gujarat Titans as an assistant coach. He maintains a dual role, alternating between coaching and active domestic competition.
