Liverpool unveils memorial plans for Jota brothers in 2026

Liverpool FC reveals design details of a tribute sculpture to honor Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva.

Memorial design details Liverpool FC has shared visuals of a forthcoming memorial dedicated to late forward Diogo Jota and his sibling Andre Silva, who passed away in a tragic vehicle accident during the previous summer. The sculpture incorporates a curved heart motif, mirroring the Portugal international’s signature goal celebration, alongside the brothers’ jersey numbers, 20 and 30. Additionally, the piece features lyrics from a song frequently sung by Reds supporters during the 20th minute of every match. The club has titled the memorial 'Forever 20' to honor the lives of Jota and Andre Silva. ## Tribute significance and location The club describes the memorial as a celebration of 'lives, their bond, and the love and respect felt by family, teammates, and fans worldwide.' Positioned at Anfield on 97 Avenue, the structure repurposes physical tributes that were previously left outside the stadium following Jota’s death, embedding them into the memorial’s stone base. Liverpool FC has not yet confirmed the unveiling date but has indicated it will announce the timing at a later stage. ## Jota's legacy at Liverpool Jota joined Liverpool from Wolves in 2020 and went on to net 65 goals across 182 appearances during his tenure at Anfield. During his time at the club, he contributed to major trophy wins, including the Premier League, FA Cup, and two League Cups.
