Leicestershire batter Sol Budinger sidelined for up to three months with knee injury
Leicestershire left-hander Sol Budinger will miss up to 12 weeks of action due to a grade two medial collateral ligament injury.
Injury details confirmed Sol Budinger has been ruled out for up to three months after sustaining a knee injury during a T20 Blast match at Old Trafford on 29 May. The left-handed batter collided with teammate Liam Trevaskis while fielding, forcing medical staff to remove him from the ground on a stretcher. Club officials confirmed the diagnosis as a grade two medial collateral ligament tear following a scan. The injury has left Budinger’s knee noticeably swollen at this stage. ## Budinger comments on teammate's form Speaking to a local radio station on Sunday, Budinger shared his thoughts on the situation. "It's still a bit swollen," he said when discussing his recovery progress. The batter also expressed his relief that Liam Trevaskis was unharmed, noting Trevaskis had been very upset immediately after the collision. "I know Liam was very distraught but I've spoken to him and he's all right now. "The way he's bowled in the last two games [five wickets], I'm happy for him and it's good to see." ## Season performance snapshot Budinger has featured in three T20 Blast fixtures this season, managing 56 runs with the bat. He has also appeared twice in the County Championship so far. The batter transferred to Leicestershire from Nottinghamshire in 2022, making him a key part of the current squad. His absence will leave a gap in the lineup for the coming weeks.
