KL Rahul smashes highest ever IPL score by an Indian in 2026

KL Rahul scored an unbeaten 152 in the IPL, setting multiple Indian batting records.

New Indian T20 and IPL records KL Rahul's unbeaten 152 in the IPL against PBKS is now the highest individual score by an Indian in the tournament's history. This surpasses Abhishek Sharma's 141, also made against PBKS in 2025. Rahul also broke the record for the highest individual T20 score by an Indian man, beating Tilak Varma's 151 against Meghalaya in 2024. His 152* is also the highest IPL score by any Indian cricketer. ## Delhi Capitals set multiple team records Delhi Capitals piled up 264 for 2 against PBKS, their highest-ever IPL total. This is the seventh-highest team total in IPL history, with five of the top six totals belonging to Sunrisers Hyderabad. Their 42 boundaries in the innings are tied for the second-most by any team in an IPL match, matching RCB's 42 against PWI in 2013. ## Historic partnerships for DC and India Rahul's 220-run stand with Nitish Rana for the second wicket is the second-highest partnership in IPL history. Only AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli's 229 for RCB against Gujarat Lions in 2016 is higher. It is also Delhi Capitals' first-ever 200-plus partnership, beating the 189* by David Warner and Naman Ojha against Deccan Chargers in 2012. ## Rahul's partnership dominance in T20s The 220-run partnership is the highest T20 partnership by an Indian pair, surpassing Suryakumar Yadav and Shreyas Iyer's 213 for Mumbai against Sikkim in 2019. Rahul has now hit six IPL centuries, placing him joint-third among all batters. Three of these centuries came while keeping wickets, tying him with Quinton de Kock and Sanju Samson. ## Rahul's IPL century milestones Rahul reached his hundred in just 47 balls, the fastest by an Indian in the IPL. His previous fastest was 56 balls against Mumbai Indians in 2023. This is only the second time he has scored a T20 hundred in less than 50 balls, the other being a 46-ball ton against West Indies in a T20I in 2016. Rahul remains unbeaten in all eight of his T20 centuries. ## DC's late-innings surge and middle overs Delhi Capitals amassed 162 for 1 in the last ten overs, tying for the second-most runs in this phase by any IPL team. The highest is 172 for 2 by RCB against GL in 2016, while KXIP also scored 162 for 2 against CSK in 2014. They scored 145 runs without losing a wicket during the middle overs, the fourth-highest such total in an IPL innings. ## Boundary and powerplay stats DC hit 42 boundaries during their innings, matching RCB's record against PWI in 2013. Sunrisers Hyderabad hold the record with 46 boundaries against Rajasthan Royals in 2025. Rahul's 47-ball hundred is his quickest in the IPL, showcasing his aggressive batting approach throughout the innings.
