Josh Inglis Joins LSG Ahead of Crucial May 4 Match
LSG acquires Josh Inglis from the Punjab Kings ahead of their May 4 match against Mumbai Indians.
Josh Inglis Signed by LSG Before May 4 Josh Inglis has been signed by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) ahead of their match against Mumbai Indians on May 4. Inglis had an impressive stint with Punjab Kings last season, where he scored 278 runs at a strike rate of 162.57. Despite being released by Punjab Kings ahead of the 2026 auction, Inglis was acquired by LSG for INR 8.6 crore, despite being unavailable for part of the tournament. ## Impact of Inglis' Availability on LSG's Squad If Josh Inglis is available to LSG from May 4, he could potentially play their last six games of the league stage, depending on the team's combination. Currently, LSG are fielding a lineup that includes Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram, and Nicholas Pooran, and often do not pick a fourth overseas player. However, with Pooran struggling to find form, scoring only 51 runs in six innings at a strike rate of 80, LSG may consider replacing him with Inglis. ## LSG's Current Form and Squad LSG are currently eighth in the ten-team points table, having won just two games out of six. Their next fixture is against Rajasthan Royals in Lucknow on April 22. The team has been experimenting with their combination, with South African spinner George Linde playing two of their last three games. Fast bowler Anrich Nortje left the LSG camp last week, but the reason for his departure remains unclear. ## Anrich Nortje's Departure from LSG Anrich Nortje, a fast bowler, parted ways with LSG last week. His reason for leaving the team is unknown, but it is confirmed that he played only one match for LSG this season, which was against Delhi Capitals on April 1. In that match, he went wicketless for 39 runs in his four overs.
