Jamaica Empress joins WCPL 2026 as fourth team in expansion move

Jamaica Empress has been added as the fourth team for the Women's Caribbean Premier League in 2026.

WCPL 2026 tournament details The Women's Caribbean Premier League for 2026 is scheduled to run from September 5 to 17, with all games played in Barbados. During the group stage, each of the four sides will face the others once. The team finishing top of the standings will advance straight to the final, where they will face the victor of a playoff between the teams in second and third place. The defending champions, Barbados Royals, are aiming to secure a fourth consecutive title after winning the tournament in 2023, 2024, and 2025. Trinbago Knight Riders claimed the first-ever edition of the competition in 2022. ## Future expansion plans A tournament release indicated that the move from three to four teams in 2026 could be followed by further changes down the line.
