Gurjapneet Singh, standing tall at 6 feet 3 inches, is a left-arm fast bowler hailing from Ambala. He established himself in Indian domestic cricket after relocating to Tamil Nadu for his career. During the 2024–25 Ranji Trophy season, he delivered a standout performance by claiming 13 wickets in just four matches. His impressive displays in the Tamil Nadu Premier League caught the attention of scouts, leading to his acquisition by Chennai Super Kings for ₹2.2 crore in the 2025 IPL auction. Unfortunately, an injury prevented him from participating in that particular season. In the 2025–26 Ranji Trophy, Gurjapneet achieved a remarkable milestone by securing a hat-trick against Nagaland in his eighth first-class match. In the sixth over of the game, he dismissed Sedezhalie Rupero, Hem Chetri, and Nagaland captain Rongsen Jonathan with three consecutive balls. This historic feat made him the first Tamil Nadu bowler to claim a Ranji Trophy hat-trick since M Mohammed in 2018, and only the seventh in the state’s cricketing history.
