England's squad has arrived in Florida to begin training before the 2026 World Cup in the United States.
The squad, led by head coach Thomas Tuchel, touched down in Florida on Monday after departing Birmingham Airport. Their pre-tournament camp is based in West Palm Beach, where preparations are underway for the upcoming World Cup. Several players, including Arsenal's Declan Rice, Noni Madueke, Eberechi Eze, Bukayo Saka, and Crystal Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson, will join the group later. These players were involved in European finals just days prior to the camp.
The team's first practice session is scheduled for Tuesday morning local time, with temperatures expected to range between 28°C and 31°C. England will face New Zealand in a warm-up match on June 6 before taking on Costa Rica on June 10. The World Cup tournament officially begins on June 11, with England set to compete in Group L.
Tuchel has called up young talents Alex Scott, Rio Ngumoha, Josh King, and Ethan Nwaneri, along with uncapped Brighton goalkeeper Jason Steele, to join the senior squad for the Florida camp. Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo and Brentford's Jordan Henderson were spotted greeting each other at the team hotel. Liverpool winger Rio Ngumoha, aged 17, is among the youth players included in the preparation group.
Captain Harry Kane is set to make his third World Cup appearance for England, having featured in the 2018 tournament in Russia and the 2022 edition in Qatar. Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham made his debut for England in 2020 at the age of 17.
England's first Group L match is against Croatia on June 17 in Dallas, Texas, a location in the same time zone as their Missouri training base. They will next face Ghana on June 23 in Massachusetts and Panama on June 27 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Both Massachusetts and New Jersey are five hours ahead of the UK.
After completing their camp in Florida, the team will relocate to Kansas City, Missouri, which is six hours behind the UK. With limited time between the end of the domestic season and the tournament, Tuchel encouraged players to vacation in the US or Caribbean to adjust to the heat and time differences.
