De'Aaron Martez Fox, born on December 20, 1997, in New Orleans, Louisiana, and raised in Cypress, Texas, attended Cypress Lakes High School where he excelled athletically, averaging over 30 points per game as a senior. He earned the title of McDonald's All-American and ranked among the top recruits in the nation. Fox spent one year at the University of Kentucky (2016–17), where his performance included averages of 16.7 points, 4.6 assists, and 4.0 rebounds per game. He helped lead the Wildcats to an SEC Championship and was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2017 SEC Tournament. Following his freshman season, he decided to enter the NBA draft. Selected fifth overall in the 2017 NBA Draft by the Sacramento Kings, Fox quickly demonstrated his potential as a rookie with exceptional speed and court awareness. His breakthrough season came in 2018–19, when he posted averages of 17.3 points and 7.3 assists per game, solidifying his role as the team’s leading player. On February 3, 2025, Fox was acquired by the San Antonio Spurs in a three-team trade.
