Carli Lloyd is a name synonymous with excellence in the world of soccer. Born on July 16, 1982, in Delran Township, New Jersey, Carli Lloyd began her soccer journey at a young age, exhibiting a natural talent for the sport. Her mother, Pamela Lloyd, recalls Carli's early days playing coed soccer, where she would often outshine her male counterparts. This innate ability, coupled with her tireless work ethic, paved the way for Carli Lloyd's future success. As a high school student, Carli Lloyd was an exceptional player, earning numerous awards, including the Girls' High School Player of the Year award from the Philadelphia Inquirer, not once but twice. Her impressive performance on the field led to her selection as a Parade All-American, a feat she achieved twice, and she was also named to the Star-Ledger All-State First Team on two occasions. Carli Lloyd's outstanding skills did not go unnoticed, and she was soon recognized as the South Jersey Soccer Coaches Association Midfielder of the Year and the Courier-Post Player of the Year in 2000. Carli Lloyd's college soccer career at Rutgers University was equally impressive, where she played for the Scarlet Knights soccer team from 2001 to 2004.
