England batter Maia Bouchier scored a career-high 143 as Hampshire defeated Somerset by five wickets to keep title hopes alive.
Hampshire edge out Somerset England opener Maia Bouchier delivered a standout performance with a career-best 143 runs as Hampshire rebounded from a loss at Lancashire to defeat Somerset by five wickets. The 27-year-old's century reduced The Blaze's lead at the top of the table to four points, with both teams having played six matches. Bouchier's effort followed a strong display last month when she scored 78 against Surrey. Hampshire's win marked their fourth success in six games in the competition. ## Odgers century falls short Somerset's Bex Odgers played a brilliant innings of 133, supported by an unbeaten 150-run partnership with Chole Skelton for the seventh wicket, the highest in women's List A cricket in England and the fourth-largest ever in this format. Their efforts set Hampshire a challenging target of 282 runs to chase. Bouchier and Freya Kemp then combined for a dominant 149-run third-wicket stand, witnessed by England head coach Charlotte Edwards. The pair combined for 135 runs between them, with Scrivens scoring 74 and Griffith contributing 61. Lancashire's 251-7 included a century partnership between Eve Jones and Ellie Threlkeld, but Jodi Grewcock's 58 ensured Essex finished the job with three overs remaining.
