Bol Bol, born in Sudan to a former NBA star, overcame early struggles to become a professional basketball player, competing in the NBA with notable seasons for the Orlando Magic and Phoenix Suns.
Bol Bol entered the world on November 16, 1999, in Khartoum, Sudan, as the second child among eleven siblings to Ajok Kuag and Manute Bol, a legendary NBA player recognized as one of the tallest athletes in league history. Due to restrictions imposed by the Sudanese government during the Second Sudanese Civil War, his family was unable to relocate to the United States, prompting a move to Cairo, Egypt, in 2001. A year later, they successfully entered the US and settled in Connecticut as political refugees. When Bol turned seven, the family relocated to Olathe, Kansas, a city with a significant South Sudanese community. Bol started high school at Blue Valley Northwest High School in Overland Park, Kansas, where he initially played on the junior varsity team. Mid-way through his freshman year, he transferred schools because he did not reside within the school’s boundaries. He continued his basketball journey at Bishop Miege High School in Roeland Park, Kansas, playing junior varsity before earning a spot on the varsity team. As a sophomore during the 2015-16 season, he earned a top ranking among his peers and contributed to Bishop Miege’s victory in the Kansas Class 4A Division I state championship. For his junior year, Bol transferred to Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California, where he averaged 16.5 points and 8.6 rebounds per game, leading his team to a runner-up finish in the California Interscholastic Federation. He moved again in late 2017, this time to Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nevada, finishing his high school career with averages of 20.4 points and 8.2 rebounds per game. Bol received multiple college scholarship offers from institutions including Kansas, Kentucky, Oregon, Arizona, and UCLA, ultimately committing to play for the Oregon Ducks. His collegiate career lasted just one season before he declared for the NBA draft. A standout moment came when he scored 32 points and secured 11 rebounds in a closely contested loss to the Texas Southern Tigers in late 2018. Following foot surgery, Bol was immediately traded to the Boston Celtics, but before appearing in a game, he was traded again the following month to the Orlando Magic. He re-signed with the Magic for the 2022-23 season, achieving career bests with averages of 9.1 points and 5.8 rebounds in a career-high 70 games. After that season, he was released by the Magic. In the summer of 2023, Bol agreed to a one-year contract with the Phoenix Suns. During that season, he contributed averages of 5.2 points and 3.2 rebounds across 43 games, helping the Suns advance to the playoffs, where they were eventually defeated by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round. He re-signed with the Suns following the season and, in his second year with the team, posted averages of 6.8 points and 2.9 rebounds over 36 appearances. © 2026 Celebrity Net Worth / All Rights Reserved
