The Blaze took the One-Day Cup lead with a dominant win over Durham, while Lancashire, Essex, and Warwickshire also secured victories.
The Blaze secured the One-Day Cup summit with a fifth win in six games, crushing Durham by 92 runs. After posting 240-8 from 50 overs, Charley Phillips claimed 5-49 to bowl out the hosts for 148. Kirstie Gordon’s unbeaten 60 anchored the innings, while Lucy Higham chipped in with 32. Hampshire’s first loss of the season saw them drop to second as Lancashire claimed a six-wicket win at Old Trafford.
Charley Phillips delivered a career-best 5-49 to lead The Blaze to victory, her maiden five-wicket haul in List A cricket. Grace Thompson top-scored for Durham with 49, but Phillips’ early breakthroughs derailed their chase. The Blaze reached 240-8 after a shaky start, with Prisha Thanawala’s 47 followed by Gordon’s crucial 60 not out. Durham collapsed to 51-6 before Thompson’s resistance prolonged the contest.
Lancashire ended Hampshire’s perfect start to the campaign with a dominant six-wicket victory at Old Trafford. Hampshire were bowled out for 153 in 43 overs, with Kate Cross taking 3-31 to spearhead the attack. Amanda-Jane Wellington top-scored with 32, but wickets fell at regular intervals. A 93-run opening stand between Emma Lamb and Eve Jones set up an easy chase as Lancashire finished with 16.3 overs to spare.
Warwickshire secured a 34-run win over Somerset after Charis Pavely’s 127 anchored a total of 336 all out. Her century followed a previous effort of 128 against The Blaze, proving her consistency at the crease. Davina Perrin’s 45 and Alexa Stonehouse’s explosive 58 not out provided late fireworks. Somerset’s reply stalled at 302, with Niamh Holland’s 65 and Chloe Skelton’s 51 going in vain as wickets fell at crucial moments.
Essex moved off the bottom of the table with a narrow 13-run win over Yorkshire at Headingley. Cordelia Griffith’s 69, alongside Grace Scrivens’ 36, helped Essex post 270-8. Lauren Winfield-Hill’s 88 threatened to chase the target, but her dismissal triggered a collapse from 142-3. Sterre Kalis’ 65 was insufficient as Yorkshire were bowled out for 257 with under 10 overs remaining.
