Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva signs two-year deal with Real Madrid, set to join in 2026.
New Real Madrid signing Midfielder Bernardo Silva has completed a move to Real Madrid on a two-year contract, reuniting with manager Jose Mourinho. Silva ended his nine-year stint at Manchester City when the previous season concluded. During his time at Manchester City, he scored 76 goals and provided 77 assists across 451 appearances. Reports earlier suggested Barcelona and Atletico Madrid were also in the race for his signature. ## Real's summer transfers Silva becomes Real Madrid's second summer acquisition on a free transfer following defender Marc Cucurella's arrival from Chelsea for £52 million. The club did not secure any trophies in the just-completed season. Real Madrid finished eight points behind La Liga winners FC Barcelona and were eliminated in the Champions League quarter-finals. Silva is currently at the World Cup with Portugal and is expected to play a key role for his national team. ## Ongoing transfer activity Real Madrid are reportedly pursuing Inter Milan defender Denzel Dumfries, who is set to leave his current club. Additionally, France defender Ibrahima Konate is set to join Real Madrid after departing Liverpool. Earlier this week, defender Antonio Rudiger signed a contract extension with Real Madrid until 2027. All these deals were finalized in June 2026.
