Bennett King will return to Queensland Cricket’s high-performance unit in 2026, replacing Joe Dawes. King previously led Queensland to three Sheffield Shield titles between 1999 and 2002. He later coached the West Indies from 2004 to 2007 after his Queensland tenure. His appointment follows Dawes’ exit amid a public dispute with Usman Khawaja. Tasmania’s Salliann Beams was also a candidate for the high-performance role.
