Australia A men, women, and Under-19 teams will tour India in September-October 2026 before key Test series.
An Australia A women’s squad will visit India for a multi-format series featuring two T20s, three 50-over matches, and a four-day game. The tour is scheduled for September in Mohali and Dharamsala. The two T20 matches will take place in Mohali on September 12 and 15, followed by three 50-over games in Dharamsala between September 17 and 23. A four-day match will then be played in Dharamsala from September 29 to October 2.
The Australia A men’s team will also tour India in September-October 2026, playing two four-day matches and three 50-over games. The four-day matches are set for Puducherry on September 22-25 and September 29-October 2, while the 50-over fixtures will follow on October 6, 9, and 11 at the same venue.
Australia A’s recent tour to India provided opportunities for fringe Test players to gain experience. Sam Konstas scored a century in the opening match, Campbell Kellaway made 88, and Cooper Connolly contributed 70 runs. Nathan McSweeney impressed with scores of 74 and 85 not out in a five-wicket defeat. KL Rahul meanwhile scored an unbeaten 176 chasing 412.
Australia’s ODI and Test teams will tour Zimbabwe and South Africa from September 15 to October 27, with three Tests in South Africa starting October 9. The selectors may rotate players between these tours, though Test specialists are unlikely to play both series due to scheduling constraints. Recent subcontinent Tests saw Australia field three spinners and one fast bowler, winning three and drawing one. Travis Head, Peter Handscomb, and Josh Inglis were used as spin-specialist batters.
The Australia A women’s tour marks their first multi-format series in India since 2018. It overlaps with Australia women’s home ODI and T20I series against Bangladesh, offering fringe players a chance to push for selection in the 2027-28 India tour. The schedule includes two T20s, three ODIs, and a four-day match, providing varied competition ahead of higher-profile assignments.
The Australia Under-19 team will face India in three 50-over matches in Rajkot on September 18, 21, and 23. They will then play four-day matches in Rajkot starting September 27 and in Ahmedabad from October 5. This series includes India’s 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who impressed on Australia’s last Under-19 tour in 2024 with a 62-ball 104 in Chennai.
The Australia A men’s schedule includes two four-day games in Puducherry on September 22-25 and September 29-October 2, followed by three 50-over matches on October 6, 9, and 11. The Australia A women’s tour features T20s in Mohali on September 12 and 15, ODIs in Dharamsala on September 17, 20, and 23, and a four-day match from September 29 to October 2.
The Australia Under-19 team will play three 50-over matches in Rajkot on September 18, 21, and 23, followed by four-day fixtures in Rajkot starting September 27 and Ahmedabad from October 5. The series against India’s Under-19 team provides exposure for young talents ahead of future international opportunities.
