Arsenal Women defender Steph Catley has signed a fresh two-year contract with the club.
Arsenal Women's defender Steph Catley has put pen to paper on a fresh two-year agreement with the WSL side. The 32-year-old Australian international arrived at the club in July 2020 following her move from Melbourne City. Since joining, she has featured 165 times for the Gunners, finding the net on four occasions. The new contract extends her stay at the Emirates Stadium until at least 2028.
Catley played a pivotal role in Arsenal's historic Women's Champions League triumph last term, their first in 18 years. She started every knockout tie, including the decisive 1-0 victory over Barcelona in the final. Over the past six seasons in north London, she has claimed two League Cups and the FIFA Champions Cup. Her outstanding 2024-25 campaign also earned her a Ballon d'Or nomination.
The left-back made her senior international bow for Australia at 18 back in 2012. Since then, she has earned 123 caps for the Matildas, netting five times. Her defensive contributions have been a cornerstone of the national team's setup over more than a decade. Catley remains a key figure for both club and country heading into the next cycle.
Arsenal currently sit fourth in the WSL standings. Their next league assignment comes against Leicester City at home on Wednesday. On Saturday, they face Lyon in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final tie. The Gunners head to France with a 2-1 first-leg advantage after overturning a deficit at Emirates Stadium last Sunday.
