Josh Haynes' impressive hundred has lifted Nottinghamshire out of trouble against Glamorgan in their Vitality Blast match at Trent Bridge. The champions were struggling at 64-4 in response to Glamorgan's 159-7, but Haynes' unbeaten 104 off 54 balls proved instrumental in steering his side towards a strong total. His 126-run partnership with Fergus O'Neill, who scored an unbeaten 54, proved the turning point in the match as Notts began to claw their way back. Glamorgan had got off to a strong start in the early stages of the match, with spinner Matthew Claude van der Gugten taking two wickets in the first three overs to leave Notts reeling. The promoted side continued to pile on the pressure, with van der Gugten eventually finishing with 2-21 from four overs to restrict Notts' scoring. However, Haynes and O'Neill's partnership proved to be the match-winning combination for the champions, as they took on the Glamorgan bowlers with renewed confidence and aggressiveness. Haynes' century was built around a series of boundaries, with the left-handed batsman displaying his usual class and composure at the crease. His partnership with O'Neill, which was worth 126 runs at one stage, gave Notts a commanding position in the match.
