Abhishek smashes record IPL score, leads Orange Cap in 2026

Abhishek blasts his way to the top of the Orange Cap standings with a record-equalling IPL hundred.

Abhishek delivered his maiden T20 innings of 20 overs while playing for SRH and powered the team to a massive total of 242 for 2.

His unbeaten knock of 135 off 68 deliveries marked the fifth-highest individual score ever seen in IPL matches and guided SRH to a share of second position on the points table.

The southpaw’s ninth T20 century placed him alone at the summit among Indian batters, matching Virat Kohli’s tally, and pushed his season aggregate to 323 runs in just seven innings at a breathtaking strike rate of 215.33.

Heinrich Klaasen sits just three runs behind his teammate in second spot on the Orange Cap chart after bludgeoning 37 not out from 13 balls in a 66-run third-wicket stand that took just 32 deliveries.

Shubman Gill, captain of Gujarat Titans, occupies the third position with 265 runs harvested in five innings at a solid strike rate of 151.42.

Completing the top ten are Ishan Kishan, Rajat Patidar, Cooper Connolly, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Priyansh Arya, rounding out the leading run-getters for the season.

Eshan secured his third four-wicket haul in T20 cricket against Delhi Capitals, vaulting him into a tie for second place among season wicket-takers.

Chennai Super Kings’ Anshul Kamboj remains at the top of the Purple Cap standings with 13 wickets to his name.

Prince Yadav, the uncapped speedster from Lucknow Super Giants, sits fourth on the list, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Kagiso Rabada, and Ravi Bishnoi are all locked together on 10 wickets apiece.

Abhishek’s 135-run effort stands as the fifth-highest individual score in IPL history.
